6th Bangladesh School of Internet Governance(bdSIG 2022)
Greetings from Bangladesh Internet Governance Forum & Bangladesh School of Internet Governance! Bangladesh Internet Governance Forum (BIGF) is affiliated with the Internet Governance Forum Support Association (IGFSA).
Bangladesh School of Internet Governance (bdSIG) is announcing that we are going to arrange the school of IG program on 26, 27 & 28 May 2022 in physical (Face to Face) format at YWCA Training Centre, 3/23, Iqbal Road, Mohammadpur, Dhaka 1207. So, we are now receiving the application for the fellowship. Any individual person from Bangladesh who are interested in the internet & IG-related issues (Ex: Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), Cyber Security, BlockChain, etc.) can attend the school by submitting the application form for the fellowship.
Who Can Apply For The Fellowship:
If you are a citizen of Bangladesh aged over 18 years old, then you are welcome to apply for the fellowship program of 6th Bangladesh School of Internet Governance – bdSIG 2022. We highly encourage the Civil society, Technical Community, Government Sector, Private Sector, Academia, Youth, and Media persons who has a deep interest in Internet Governance, and has in the past contributed or wishes to contribute to the IG process, may apply for this program as a bdSIG (Bangladesh School of Internet Governance) Fellow.
BIGF is the national Internet Governance Forum (IGF) for the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. IGFs are an initiative led by the United Nations for the discussion of public policy issues relating to the internet. A key distinguishing feature of IGFs is that they are based on the multi-stakeholder model – all sectors of society meet as equals to exchange ideas and discuss best practices.
The program is expected to carry theoretical sessions and participants’ engagement activities. Participation in bdSIG 2022 is free of cost.
6th bdSIG 2022 Schedule
bdSIG is being organized by Bangladesh Internet Governance Forum (BIGF) in conjunction with United Nations Internet Governance Forum. bdSIG is a product of Asia Pacific School of Internet Governance (APSIG). bdSIG is working for implementing a school of IG in Bangladesh through the collaboration with Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), Asia Pacific Network Information Centre(APNIC), Bangladesh Internet Exchange Trust (BDIX) and Sustainable Development Networking Foundation(SDNF).
In the 6th bdSIG, 114 interested people completed their registration procedure to attend the event & 40 persons got the fellowship opportunity to join the program finally. 29 male and 11 female participants actively accomplished the 6th Bangladesh School of Internet Governance(bdSIG) 2022 program with exclusively training on machine learning, Artificial Intelligence(AI), Internet of Things(IoT), Fourth Industrial Revolution and its dimension, Fellowship Opportunities & Engagement in IG Process, Internet Governance : Current Issues & Discussions and Workshop on Career Talk.

Selection Criteria
Fellowship applicants will be selected by the Selection Committee based on different criteria such as background, experience, and contributions and keeping in mind parameters such as geographical and gender balance and diversity.
Sharing of Teaching Material
bdSIG proposes to share teaching material (background papers, video recordings of sessions, etc.) with other SIGs in the region based on a consensus at the APSIG level.
Local Fellowship (National)
Selected applicants for the fellowship program will get the opportunity to attend the physical (Face to Face) program of Bangladesh School of Internet Governance (bdSIG), and the successful applicant will be provided with lunches, snacks during the bdSIG 2022 event period.

6th bdSIG 2022 Fellows
Bangladesh School of Internet Governance – bdSIG Fellowship Committee selected 40 applicants as fellows for the 6th bdSIG 2022 program for the directly physical (Face to Face) format.
